What is the difference between cast steel valve and cast iron valve?

2022-08-11
The biggest difference between cast steel valves and cast iron valves is that the materials are different. It can be said that the raw materials are different, because one is cast steel and the other is cast iron. In addition, cast steel has less carbon content, good toughness, and higher pressure and temperature resistance than cast iron; and cast iron valves are not suitable for diesel, seawater and acidic media, so the price of cast iron valves is relatively cheaper. The production process is also much simpler: the cast iron is smelted in an iron melting furnace, that is, cast iron (liquid) is obtained, and the liquid cast iron is cast into a casting, which is also called a cast iron;
If it is a cast steel valve and a cast iron valve of the same diameter, the price of cast steel will definitely be higher, and the environment used is different, and the life and pressure resistance are slightly stronger. Almost every cast steel valve has to go through the pressure test of the test bench before it can be shipped. From this point of view, there are many standards and specifications.
